He was married 52 years to the love of his life, the late Mary Rochelle Rhodes Wigstrom. He was the son of the late Ernest Oscar Wigstrom and the late Evelyn Skelton Wigstrom of Silverhill, AL. He was the eldest brother of the late Leon (Lonnie Wigstrom) and the late Oliver (Buddy) Wigstrom. He is survived by his siblings, Adele Wallace, Donnie Wigstom, and Connie Peterson, all of Alabama. He was a proud father to William (Bill) Ernest Wigstrom, Jr., Edgar (Eddie) Oliver Wigstrom, the late John (Johnny) Lee Wigstrom, Sr., Donald (Donnie Ray) Wigstrom, and James (Jim) Patrick Wigstrom, Sr. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Bill moved from Gulf Shores, Alabama to Belle Chasse, Louisiana in 1964 where he raised his family and started Wigstrom & Sons Plumbing and Heating. He was a Free Mason and Shriner known as Hobo Bill for 52 years. He was best remembered for his heart felt work for St. Jude's Children’s Hospital. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army with an Honorable Discharge for his service from 1953 to 1963 and served in Germany during the Berlin Crisis. He was a very hard working man and was always kind and friendly to everyone he met. His stories were better than those of Edgar Allen Poe. Bill will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him. On November 7, 2021, per Bill’s request, a private burial service will be held. On November 7, 2021 at 3 p.m., you are invited to celebrate Bill’s life at the Silverhill Bohemian Little Hall, where Bill spent many of his young days. The address is 16174 4th Avenue in Silverhill, Alabama.
