Mrs. Susan L. Ross

July 16, 1949 - May 16, 2020

Susan L. (Wilson) Ross 70, of Foley, Al, formerly of Mahomet, IL passed from this life after a courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, May 16, 2020 at home. Susan was born to Ralph and Ruth (Goff) Worth in Saginaw, Michigan on July 16, 1949. Susan married Earl Ross on July 21, 2018. He survives. Also surviving are her mother Ruth, her son John (Kathy) Garrison of Mattoon, IL, her daughter Dawn (Kerwin) Keller of Mahomet, IL, her siblings Donald Worth of Gautier, MS; Kathy Jackson of Flint, MI; Dick Worth of Macelona, MI; Sharon Burrows of Flint, MI; Ralph (Teresa) Worth of Ocean Springs, MS; step-sister Nora (Brian) McDonald of Hemmet, CA; one grandson Justin Keller, Champaign, IL; one Aunt Gloria Barton (Idaho), one Uncle Ronnie Wolfe (Michigan) and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her favorite kitties, Gizmo and Tiger. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, her father and her sister-in-law Martha Jane. Her greatest joy in life was caring for people. Whether it was a family member or a close friend, she always felt the need to care for others. She held many positions in her lifetime. She was a stay-at-home mom, florist, waitress and city council member, to name a few. All positions that, in one way or another, helped to care for someone else. In her spare time, she loved to go dancing or sing karaoke. She was an awesome cook and baker. As long as she was spending time with people she loved, she was happy. Her family would like to extend special thanks to the nurses at Covenant Hospice for the gentle care they provided to Susan in her final days. Most of all, words cannot express how grateful we are to her niece, Carrie Sue. Just knowing that you were there means the world to us. Funeral services are being handled by Mack Funeral Home, Robertsdale, AL. A private family service will be held in Foley, AL. A separate service will be held in Mahomet, IL at a date and time yet to be determined. “Those we love don't go away. They walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near.
