Mr. Stanley D. Wilber
September 19, 1953 - July 23, 2019
September 1953 – July 2019 Stanley D. Wilber passed away peacefully on Tuesday July 23, 2019 at South Baldwin Hospital. He was a hard worker, clever inventor, great storyteller, protective brother, loving father and husband. Stan was born in Vincennes, Indiana to a dashing young pilot named Howard and a farmer’s daughter named Lillian; he allowed no one to hassle his brother and sister as much as he did. He was skilled with his hands - if a machine had ever worked, he could fix it. He invented and patented his own video game controller. Forever hungry for knowledge, he was a voracious reader of scientific books and magazines, and had read just about every Sci-fi book in the local library. He worked for his dad’s repair business for many years before starting his own business called AAA Refrigeration & Appliance, in Foley. Later, he was employed by Teledyne Continental Motors, in Mobile. He is survived by his wife Karen Wilber of 44 years; his daughter Rebecca Hogan and her husband Mike; his brother Richard Wilber and his son Eric; and his sister Anita Beaman and her husband Fred with their sons Jason and Nathaniel. The memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, August 3, at The Master’s Table church in Foley, AL.
