Mrs. Shirley Keuler Phillips Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mrs. Shirley Keuler Phillips, age 87 was a native and a resident of Loxley, Alabama. She passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2022. Mrs. Phillips started her teaching career in the mid 1960's at the Robertsdale Elementary School and then continued in Loxley, Alabama teaching kindergarten for many years. She retired as an Art Instructor from the St. Patrick's Catholic School in Robertsdale, Alabama. Mrs. Phillips was community minded and served on the Loxley Industrial Board. As a member of the Loxley Presbyterian Church, she was the church organist for over 60 years. Mrs. Phillips was talented in numerous ways as an amazing seamstress, an artist who painted several oil painting and decorated her house beautifully. The Craftee Cottage was her art business in Loxley, Alabama in partnership with Carolyn Cooper. She had a true love for family and friends and enjoyed organizing luncheons, parties and fun activities. Mrs. Phillips was preceded in death by her husband, Max A. Phillips and is survived by daughter, Brenda Gates Vanderwood (John), son, Max Weston Phillips (Robin), two brothers, Gerald Keuler, Lloyd Keuler (Gwen), six grandchildren, Sabrina, Chelsea, Keuler, Trenton, Michelle, Anna and two great grandchildren, Callie and Kollyn. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 7, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. from the Loxley Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jonas Brock officiating. A visitation will be held Thursday, July 7, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. until service time at 10:00 a.m. at the Loxley Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Loxley, Alabama. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Loxley Presbyterian Church, 62 North Cypress Street, Loxley, Alabama 36551.
