Mr. Russ Murfin

January 31, 1954 - January 8, 2021

Mr. Russ Murfin, age 66, a native of Daphne, AL and a resident of Silverhill, AL passed away Friday, January 8, 2021. Russ was a minister of music of several Baptist churches in Baldwin County and currently the Minister of Music for the Fairhope Avenue Baptist Church. A Gospel singer and songwriter, Russ has three albums. He retired from Scott Paper Company after 22 years. He loved working outdoors and had a landscape and irrigation company at one time. Russ also worked as an electrician. Many know him for his generosity and his great sense of humor. He was preceded in death by his parents, William R. Murfin, Sr. and Wanda Madere Murfin and survived by his loving wife and best friend, Susan Vinson Murfin of Silverhill, AL, son, Jason Murfin of Daphne, AL and his fiancee Jessica, granddaughter, Sophie, sister, Brenda Murfin Blair (Terry) of Fairhope, AL, brother, Martin J. Murfin (Twila) of Silverhill, AL, sister, Nancy Murfin Hall (Robert) of Fairhope, AL, sister, Martha Murfin Tauzin (Lennet) of Dallas, TX, sister, Thelma Murfin Pierce (Andy) of Baton Rouge, LA, and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Fairhope First Baptist Church, 300 South Section Street, Fairhope, AL. You may watch on Facebook or YouTube.
