Buford Lee Blackmon, age 95 a resident of Loxley, AL passed away Friday, February 19, 2021. Mr. Blackmon was a US Navy veteran. He moved to Loxley in 1946 from Opp, AL. He worked at Brookley AFB as an aircraft mechanic and later worked at NAS Pensacola. He enjoyed being centerfielder for the Rosinton Baseball team. Mr. Blackmon is survived by his daughter, Beryl (Alton) Allen of Loxley, AL; son, Charles Gregory (Debbie) Blackmon of Alexander City, AL; stepchildren, Rodney Nicholas and Lynette Neasbitt; sister, Juanita Welker; eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. A graveside funeral service with military honors will be held Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery in Loxley, AL. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Loxley United Methodist Church.
