Mary Jean Barnhill took God’s hand on Sunday morning and joined her husband Gordon for eternity. She is survived by her children Mary Lou and Bob McMillan, Gordon and Ginger Barnhill, and Jeanie and Charlie Jones. Grandchildren who adored their Nonnie are Robert and Monica McMillan, Jeanne Lee and David Yarbrough, Phillip and Maggie Barnhill, Michael Barnhill, Andrew Barnhill and Jessica Guthrie, Doug and Michele Jones, Jordan and Andy Dalton, Jennifer and Bob Vought, Patrick Donovan, Jack and Sarah Donovan, Joe and Shelley Donovan and Kate and Josh Hartman. Great grandchildren who will miss their Nonnie tremendously are Hector and Rob McMillan, Camille and Hudson Yarbrough, Phillip and Edward Barnhill, Millie, Annie, and Adaline Jones, Noah, Nash and Finley Dalton, Dylan, Isabella, Eowyn, Georgiana, John, and Alexander Donovan, Robert, Reilly, Caroline, and Mary Lacy Vought, Hollis and Sidney Donovan and Gus Hartman. She was also adored by many nieces, nephews, and friends and two sisters in law, Brenda Dean and Helen Dean. Mary Jean was a member of Loxley United Methodist church her entire life and began teaching Sunday school at the age of 16 where she taught for 60+ years. Her love for her church also included leading MYF, singing in the choir, member of the United Methodist Women, and was a Lay speaker throughout the county. For many years Mary Jean also enjoyed being in the Real Estate industry in Baldwin County. Her love for community also included chairing Golf tournaments for the Cancer Society and was a Volunteer for Baldwin County EMC Charitable Foundation. Mary Jean had also been an avid golfer where she played throughout Baldwin and Mobile counties. Mary Jean’s legacy to her children and grandchildren will always remain as her steadfast Love for the Lord, her family and friends and her heart for sharing her faith. Services will be held Thursday April 29th at Loxley United Methodist Church. The family will receive visitors at 9:00am and the service will begin at 10:00am. Interment is at Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Loxley United Methodist Church.
