Mr. Louis Mitchell White Sr.

December 10, 1927 - May 2, 2022

Louis Mitchell White, Sr. age 94 was a native of Bay Minette, Alabama and a resident of Rosinton, Alabama. He passed away on Monday, May 2, 2022 surrounded by his family. Mr. White was a member of the Robertsdale Church of Christ and was a veteran of WWII serving in the United States Army. He enjoyed traveling with the Baldwin County Travelers Club with Mrs. Carolyn by his side. His lifelong career was a hardware salesman and he aided customers through the years with his wide knowledge. Mr. White also had a sideline business that was a Saw Filing business. He traveled across the county doing this. A unique trade that he had was sharpening scissors and knives that many, especially the women, were grateful for. He was a talented craftsman, building Pie Safe Cabinets and loved woodworking making toys, cars, baby highchairs and many other trinkets for the children and grandchildren. Mr. White will be remembered for his storying telling as he had a marvelous memory. And he was also a jokester to the end, with pranks and telling jokes that he practiced. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn “Peaches” White and wife Carolyn Childress White, son Eric Bradley White, step son Barney Thomas Hobbs, Sr. Survivors include three sons, Mark Edward White (Kathy), Michael White (Peggy), Louis M. “Mickey” White, Jr., two step daughters, Dovie Hobbs Bohnhoff (Alan), Macy Hobbs Wilcox (Dana), 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 9, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. from the Robertsdale Church of Christ, 18250 Pennsylvania Street, Robertsdale, Alabama with Mr. Andrew Itson and Mr. Eric Gray officiating. A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be in the New Cooper Cemetery, Robertsdale, Alabama. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Robertsdale Church of Christ.
