Mrs. Janice Maxine Fendley
August 24, 1933 - February 3, 2021
Janice Maxine Fendley, age 87, passed away peacefully on February 3rd, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Maxine was born in Wynn, Alabama on August 24, 1933. She was married to David Griffin Fendley for many years and they resided in Silverhill, AL where they raised two children, Stan and Cindy. Maxine was a faithful member of Silverhill Baptist Church and also The Joy Sunday School Class. She loved cooking for her family and friends and she was "famous" for her fried chicken. Maxine also enjoyed spending time with her Bunco Group. In her earlier years, she enjoyed spending time at the beach with her best friend, Janette Legrone. She was preceded in death by her husband, Griffin Fendley and her parents, Joe and Bonnie Hudson and one sister, Joann Daniels. Her survivors include Stan (Sandy) Fendley of Fulton, AL and Cindy Fendley of Silverhill, AL and one sister, Barbara Morgan of Fulton. Grandchildren, Tabatha (Randall) Sims, Justin (Whitney) Fendley, Heather (Michael) Thompson; seven great grandchildren, Kaydence and Klayton Sims, Lydia and Wyatt Fendley, Paisley, Sam and Dean Thompson and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Maxine was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be missed by all who loved her. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to First Baptist Church of Silverhill, 15898 Silverhill Avenue, Silverhill, AL 36576. Visitation will be held Saturday, February 20th, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. with a memorial service beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the Silverhill First Baptist Church
