Mr. James T. "Jim" Ray III Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

James T. “Jim” Ray, III, age 81, a native of Chamblee, GA, a former resident of Jackson, Okolona, Falkner, and Columbia, MS and a current resident of Loxley, AL passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2020. Mr. Ray served in the United States Army and received his degree from Blue Mountain College in Blue Mountain, MS. Jim was like a father, grandfather and brother to many as he loved people of all walks and ages. He was an encourager and known for his beautiful smile and gift of conversation. Jim was a pastor in the true sense – touching countless lives, serving as a Baptist minister for nearly 40 years. He loved to catch big bass and fish with family and friends. Mr. Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Kay Ray and son, Mike Ray and is survived by his son, Chris (Candy) Ray of Jackson, MS; daughter, Michelle (Greg) Goolsby; brother, Dave (Judy) Ray of Wren, MS, six grandchildren, Chad (Lacey) Ray, Ashley (Ryan) Vaughn, Anna (Matt) Flinn, Amy (Daniel) Haralson, Nick (Payton) Goolsby, Mike Goolsby and 9 great grandchildren, Reese, Sidney Kay, Hollis, Brewer, John Carson, Addie Ryan, Carter, Regan James and Ezra. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 30, 2020 at 3 p.m. at the Robertsdale First Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Copeland officiating. A visitation will be held beginning at 1 p.m. at the church prior to the service.
