We regretfully announce the passing of Ida Mae Nolan Stephenson, age 96, on May 25th, 2021. At the Robertsdale Healthcare Center in Robertsdale, Alabama. She is survived by her three children, son Robert J. Nolan Jr., his wife Elaina, her son Timothy J. Nolan and his wife Rebecca, and her daughter Kathleen N. Lyons. Ida had 7 grandchildren. Jacob, Brooke, Christopher, Kelsie, Erin, Lindsey, and Hayley. Four great grand-children, Allie, Kira, Trilli and Hudson. And two more great grandchildren on the way! Born in Bristol, Pennsylvania on 23 December 1924 to Ralf and Mae Jane Clemann. Ida spent most of her life In Long Branch, New Jersey. Then another 40 years in Vero Beach, Florida, where she was a member of the United Methodist Church. ”She then resided in Silverhill, Alabama for 8 years. In her final years, Ida attended Church at the Robertsdale Healthcare Center. Her favorite hymn was called “I Come to the Garden Alone.” Ida is preceded in death by her father and mother; Ralf Clemann, and Mae Jane Bellerby. Also, her late husbands, Joseph Stephenson and long-time husband of 49 years, Robert J. Nolan. Both WWII veterans. Her two WWII veteran brothers, Bob and Jack Clemann, and baby sister, Marjorie. Also preceded in death by her grand- daughter, sweet Candice Nolan. As a child, Ida endured many tragedies but her resilience prevailed into her adult years. Ida was a hard worker, a great pie baker, and a super caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her generosity was extremely bighearted. Ida gave numerous donations to many organizations. Her intuitive, sixth sense intuition had her always saying, “I told you so.” She loved to bowl, draw and paint, listen to music, and watch old movies. Her favorites, were westerns, with John Wayne. Ida Mae’s passion was “DANCING”. She danced up until her 92nd birthday! A celebration and tribute to her life will be made at a later date, when travel arrangements can be made by out of state children. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to: “South River Park Church of God”, 10993 County Rd. 32, Fairhope, AL 36532. Our memory of Ida will stay alive in our thoughts and words. Her kindness and love for others, will keep her forever in our hearts.
