Glenn Arthur Wilcox

July 22, 1930 - April 17, 2022

Glenn Arthur Wilcox, age 91, whose family began their homestead here in Baldwin County in 1905, a resident of Robertsdale, Alabama, passed away in the early morning in his home of 62 years on our Holiest of days Easter Sunday, April 17, 2022. Glenn served in the U.S. Navy, then onto earning a mechanical engineer degree at the Alabama Polytechnic Institute; today known as Auburn University. While working on a Navy base in Enid, Oklahoma, fate brought him to a bowling alley where he was introduced to Carole Scholz, his soon to be wife, married on October 11, 1958, a relationship that bloomed into a beautiful partnership lasting 63 years, full of adventures, spanning Oklahoma, South America, and finally settling in Robertsdale, Alabama, with his wife and five adoring children. His work ethic was outshined only by his devotion to his family and the Lord. He became a member of the Loxley First Baptist Church in 1976 and served the Lord as a deacon for decades. After retiring he could be found visiting with his children and family, working in his woodshop, browsing the flea market, eating at his favorite establishments, and spending Sundays at church. The loss of this kind and selfless man will be felt by his family and community for years to come. He was preceded in death by parents, Rubena Elizabeth Ard Wilcox and Warren Pierce Wilcox; sisters, Beulah, Beatrice, Winifred, and Ida Faye; and brothers, Warren Pierce Jr., Curtis Vernon, and Jerry Channing. He leaves behind the love of his life Carole Scholz Wilcox; five children, Shawn (Charlotte) Wilcox, Sharon (Jim) Connolly, Dawn (Michael) Tavares, Laura (Steve) Bryant, and Warren Wilcox; brothers, Ray Lawrence Wilcox and Dana Paul Wilcox; 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, along with many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. We will be celebrating the legacy of his life at Loxley First Baptist Church in Loxley, AL on Friday, April 29, 2022. Visitation will be from 9 am until 10 am with a chapel service starting at 10 am. Burial will be at Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Spanish Fort.
