Mr. George Fontaine

George Fontaine, age 83, a native of Clarke Co., MS and a resident of Silverhill, AL since 1972 passed away on May 15, 2018. Mr. Fontaine served in the United States Air Force. He was a well known mechanic and a long time farmer. He was passionate about his Christmas Trees, especially the fact that it was done with his family. Mr. Fontaine drove a school bus and had a unique connection with special needs kids. He is survived by his wife, Jean Fontaine of Silverhill, AL; two daughters, Terry (Keith) Cowart of Sylacauga, AL, Elizabeth (Robert) Witt of Crestview, FL; son, Jeff (Donna) Fontaine of Niceville, FL; brother, Bill (Wanda) Fontaine of Meridian, MS; five grandchildren, Kristoffer Cowart, Lauren Cowart, Robert Witt, III, Justin Witt and Stefanie Fontaine. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Mack Funeral Home with Rev. Brian Wade officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. In honoring Mr. Fontain’s memory and his heart for special needs children, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Robertsdale Elementary School (memo line: special needs playground) 1 Cub Drive, Robertsdale, AL 36567.
